About Marjory

Marjory Russakoff grew up in Maine and graduated Skowhegan High School as class salutatorian.  Graduating with honors in psychology from Wesleyan University, she studied under Sheila Tobias (co-founder of the National Organization for Women) , who pioneered the work on math anxiety. Serving on the Wesleyan Alumni Admissions Committee, Marjory interviews prospective students and plays an integral role in the admissions process.

For over 30 years, Marjory has tutored privately and contracted with local school unions to provide education in Mathematics, Language Arts, and Social Sciences. While her students range in age from 6 to 60, Marjory’s primary focus is the high school population. For more than 25 years, she has provided standardized test preparation and private college guidance and placement services. Marjory is affiliated with the National Association of College Admission Counseling.  Through NACAC , she gains access to an impressive network of resources, from pertinent research on financial aid trends to key data on post-secondary institutions  and their admission trends.

Marjory makes her home in Southwest Harbor, Maine, where she and her husband have raised two children. Her other interests include coaching an award-winning speech team, jazz, animal rescue, and sailing on the coast of Maine.
